Morales Receives WEAT Presidential Award
Gulf Coast Authority (GCA) is proud to announce that Brianna Morales is the 2021 recipient of the Water Environment Association of Texas’ (WEAT) Presidential Award. The Presidential Award is given by WEAT to a person that has gone the extra mile in supporting the WEAT President in leading the organization. The Presidential Award will be awarded at the 2021 Texas Water Presidential Reception on Friday, March 26, 2021.
Morales joined GCA in 2008 and has served in Operations, Maintenance, Laboratory, and Management roles over the past 13 years. In 2020 Morales made the transition from municipal wastewater treatment to industrial wastewater treatment, serving as the Assistant Facility Manager at GCA’s largest facility, the Bayport Facility.
“GCA proudly supports our employees’ active membership in professional organizations that advance wastewater treatment industry such as WEAT,” said Scott Harris, Chief Operations Officer of GCA.
Morales is an active member that serves as the TWUA – Liaison and also serves on the Workforce Development Committee.
“Brianna’s contributions to WEAT are evident by her actions at GCA, as well as to the larger wastewater-support community in Texas,” said Elizabeth Fazio Hale, General Manager/CEO of GCA. “It is important to GCA that we continue to find ways for our employees to contribute to the profession as a whole in order to advance measures in the field.”
